The new edtion of SEATS OF UNDERSTANDING, the 15th International Design Contest Trieste Contemporanea (read the Rules of the competition), is an initiative towards “GO! 2025 — Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025” event. The contestants should design a potentially iconic item of street furniture: a seating installation, such as a functional bench, that could also represent symbolic meanings linked to historical location of Nova Gorica/Gorizia and the sharing of cultural values.
Participation is open, without charge, to professionals from Central Eastern Europe (the list of eligible countries can be consulted in the rules) until May 12, 2024.
AWARD FOR A DESIGNER FROM TRIESTE
Trieste Contemporanea is pleased to inform that the contest total prize fund is now of € 10,000 thanks to the new KATHLEEN FOREMAN CASALI FOUNDATION PRIZE (€ 2.000) for the best design from Trieste among those selected (it can be awarded also to a group, composed of members born in Trieste). VISIT TO NOVA GORICA AND GORIZIA
In view of supporting the preliminary project studies of participants, Trieste Contemporanea organises a visit to Nova Gorica and Gorizia on April 13, 2024, at 11 am. Anyone interested can register through the appropriate online form on the Trieste Contemporanea website until April 8, 2024.

La nuova edizione del concorso SEATS OF UNDERSTANDING, il 15° Concorso Internazionale di Design Trieste Contemporanea (leggi il Regolamento), è un'iniziativa verso “GO! 2025 — Nova Gorica e Gorizia Capitale Europea della Cultura 2025”. I concorrenti dovranno progettare un elemento potenzialmente iconico di arredo urbano: un'installazione di sedute, come una panchina funzionale, che possa anche rappresentare significati simbolici legati al luogo storico di Nova Gorica/Gorizia e alla condivisione di valori culturali.
La partecipazione è aperta, gratuitamente, ai professionisti dell'Europa centro orientale (l'elenco dei Paesi ammessi è consultabile nel regolamento) fino al 12 maggio 2024.
PREMIO PER UN DESIGNER TRIESTINO
Trieste Contemporanea è lieta di annunciare che il montepremi complessivo è diventato di € 10.000 grazie al nuovo PREMIO FONDAZIONE KATHLEEN FOREMAN CASALI (€ 2.000) per il miglior progetto proveniente da designer nati a Trieste tra quelli selezionati (può essere assegnato anche ad un gruppo composto da membri nati a Trieste).
